Enviro Care Uganda

General Objectives

  • To set precedence in the promotion and use of alternative renewable energy sources such as biogas solar, hydro, biomass, wind, bio-fuels and their associated technologies and development of energy conservation and efficiency projects in all sectors and promote the use of energy-efficient technologies
  • To promote and encourage water harvesting and efficient water utilization by households/ institutions and ensure availability of water for production in water dependent sectors in order to increase their resilience to climate change impacts and promote collaborative and participatory management of wetland resources with communities.
  • To address the challenges faced by displaced and underserved people by the effects of environmental occurrence like landslides, tribal and political instabilities, earthquakes, and land eviction and encourage people to conserve the environment by adopting suitable agricultural methods to improve on food and nutrition for improved development.
  • To mobilize community members through training, participation and participatory approach as a means to protect the environment and support the vulnerable, women, men, children and the orphans as well as protecting their health rights and assist the project beneficiaries to organize themselves into self-help groups and Community development groups to sustainably manage and sustain the development activities initiated.
  • To promote Institutional partnership in development, and respects ongoing International Research initiatives and national policies on environment conservation and sustainable development.
  • To promote and encourage agricultural diversification, and improved post-harvest handling, storage and value addition in order to mitigate rising climate related losses and to improve food security and household incomes and support community-based adaptation strategies through extension services and improved systems for conveying timely climate information to rural populations and ensure meaningful information to various stakeholders on community issues through adequate research on environmental concerns.
